Skin resurfacing aka skin surface adjustment is a cosmetic procedure that prepares and pre-treats the skin prior to adding any type of pigment. A full assessment is needed to know what is needed for your scar. Sometimes our scars can heal raised on the skin(hypertrophic) or hollowed out (hypotrophic). We first create a smooth canvas by several methods. Then we can introduce and correct for pigment loss.
Skin surface adjustment may require several treatment sessions. Sometimes we can implement microneedling technique without the pigment, then hyaluronic acid serum is applied so that it can be absorbed by the skin to add moisture and boost collagen production.
